Gorge Walking

Field Studies including River Studies & Woodland Studies

  • An important aspect of the Centre’s environmental policy.
  • Complements the work of Primary and Post-Primary schools by linking in with modules of the Geography, History and Science curricula.
  • Provides a history of Dartrey Estate and Dartrey Heritage through woodland walks or canoe paddles

  • Provides a practical knowledge base of Dartrey Woodland habitats and Dromore river habitats

Camping & Camp craft

  • Camping & good camp craft is the ideal activity at Tanagh to meet Outdoor Education objectives. Canoe camping expeditions are run as part of programmes designed for the visiting groups.

Hill walking

  • Fixed orienteering courses of varying ability are run in Dartrey Wood. Orienteering may be delivered in the form of a race by running the course, using mountain bikes or canoeing to locate the control points.

Indoor Climbing Wall

Aerial Runway

Mountain Biking
