The fifteenth Provincial Chapter of the Ireland England Province of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts was held in Emmaus House in Swords Co. Dublin from the 10th to the 14th of June 2013.

On Monday and Tuesday Fr. Stan Kolosa sscc (US Province), led the members to reflect on our lives and on our response to the values of the Gospel.  On Wednesday we held our Provincial elections choosing those among us who will lead us for the coming three years.  Fr. Derek Laverty sscc was reelected as Provincial for another three years while Fr. Fergal Maguire sscc was elected Vicar Provincial and Fr. Pearse Mullen sscc elected as Provincial Councillor.  We wish them well in their exercise of this ministry within the community.  On Thursday we continued with the business of the Chapter, discussing the Provincial Report, the state of our finances, our engagement with our lay associates among other topics.

On Thursday evening as is our custom, we held our Jubilee celebrations.  Fr. Kieran Murtagh sscc and Br. Anthony McMorrow sscc were celebrating their 60th anniversary of their first profession while Br. Harry O'Gara was celebating 50th years of religious profession.  Sr. Johanna Rohan sscc celebrated 40 years of religious profession while Fr. Michael Ruddy sscc this year celebrates 25 years of priesthood.  We offer our congratulations to all.

On Friday, Mr. Jim Flynn sscc (Lay Associate - Clones), led a fruitful discussion and sharing with our Sacred Hearts Sisters and our Irish and English lay associates.  Both groups also came together in Swords this week to reflect on their lives and ministry.   Our get together concluded with a Eucharistic celebration where Fr. Alberto Toutin sscc (General Councillor - Rome) shared a reflection on the scriptures.  A fitting conclusion to a fruitful week for all.
